I wonder how many 'so called 24 hour couriers' will be unavailable now for the next 2 weeks :) haha

I wont be available from 12 noon on the 24th till the 27th, also the 31st till the 2nd

The only way to find out is start phoning round on the 24/12/2013 about 8pm and that will give you the answer, I have worked on New years eve and its by far the best time of year to drive, I will work if required but rarely do, I have done lots of work for Sameday Uk in the good old days.

Celebrated the last 3 New Years eves doing emergency deliveries driving to Scotland! It sure is the best time to drive on empty motorways.

Im wondering whats rates people ar going to charge for xmas day. I know a company that is still only paying the basic rate and that's less than a fair rate

Basic rate is understandable if they are a regular customer, but a one off wanting a b#tt pl#g taking from Wigan to Plymouth would be considerably more than normal rate.

Just xmas day off for me. Easily bored with same old crap on tv etc.

The answer is lots, people allready saying they are having a few days off or are closed for a a few weeks nothing wrong with that, BUT they advertise on there website they provide a a 24/7 or 24/7/365 make what you want of that.

Lots of crap on peoples websites including using Logos of companies illegally etc etc

We are 24/7 for my customers but they all close at xmas apart from one but all the collections we do for them have all closed for xmas happy days :-),

All xmas wrapping done, time for bed and off to legoland tomorrow looks like its going to be nice and wet, good job the yhave a nice swimming pool and a good BAR :-)

We are 24/7 and my phone will be switched on, majority of our customers are all closing on xmas eve until 2nd jan so hoping for at least a week off. No big hardship if we dont as work is work, weve still got drivers willing to work over the xmas period as its just another day to some of them.

Ive got 2 jobs booked for crimbo day and 1 for boxing day, got a good rate for them aswell :)

Thank you guys... It has been a devasting few years for me, but more so for the last quarter of 2013, work has kept me sane and occupied with few understanding supportive clients, without them and a few friends who knows where I'd be now.. Just trying to come to terms with recent events is hard... Looking towards the future is harder.

For those that dont know, I lost my Dad to Cancer tail end of September, But what has really hit me and hard is losing my long time partner in crime the love of my life and recently wedded wife also to Cancer late November at the young age of 45..

I am trying to focus on certain things to keep my mind occupied as its January and we all know that these next few months can be quiet, we've raised nearly a grand for two charities through our wedding and wake/social media, but plan more like sponsored face shave, as I have a full length Bikers Goatee and will only remove it for charity..

Gary All though we may have never met my thoughts are with you, I have my self lost my father to the awful condition that is cancer my father went from the strongest man I knew (Regimental sergeant major ) to a small child in 2 years . younger brother at this moment is battling testicular cancer has lost 1 ball and the likelihoods that he will loose the other,
