Hi all ye faithfull!

I have a dillema, and as the wiser members on the internet i need your advice re: CX!

I have ummmed and ahhhh'd about weather to sign up to CX over the past few months, and want to know from others is it a wise investment to generate more work from or is it a complete waste of money?

I have tinkered around on both this site and Freight alerts, as the opt in fee was considerablly less than that of the big yellow one, but do i part with my hard earned cash, and turn it into more earnings or not.....

Team its over to you, to openy give your views!

Thanks in advance!

Give it a go, 50 jobs posed on there for LWB vehicles so far today, since I started from multi dropping back in September, ive got 1 very good contact off here and done 4 jobs for them, I havent had a job of freight alerts... however ive done 55 jobs off cx.

There is no quick fix for jan or feb...or august come to that...these are quiet months and it doesn't matter where you go, you'll find them hard months to get thru.
CX works, but they want 12 months up front, which in this climate is hard.
You will get your money back and more....IF you're rates are what people are looking for, AND if you're not in the arse end of no where.

BUT none of these sites are going to magically give you a living.
You need to get out there and get your own customers and use these sites to cover any work you can't do, help you get a return from where you've just been, or get you something enroute to where you're already going.
If you're lucky you'll find a few very good vendors who can keep you ticking over just with the work they have BUT when they're quiet, their drivers will come 1st and you'll be stuck sittin.

In my view you gaet 2 or 3 customers of your own, work for 2 or 3 good courier companies AND use exchange sites.....and as we speak cx is the one.....hopefully mtvan will be the cheaper alternative soon

Hey chris same scenario as me, i was doing multidrop over the past 6 years with the odd same day here and there, and previously same day back in early 2001. But yeah its another string in the bow!

hey Rob, thanks for the advise mate, been lucky enough to work most days all year so far (granted know it only feb) but i can get out of bristol to where ever i struggle between this site and freight alerts to get ongoing work from where ever i end upor work returning, which is why now im seriously considering joining CX, think i may have to try it for a year and see what happens from it, for the price it works out a £1 a day pretty much!

go for it...i don't think its expensive, but when they want the dosh up front it obviously hampers some, and gets people asking is it worth it....which is understandable.

Shipley, anyvan and a n other just seem to be filled with shite from what i've seen so it's no contest for me....the others have their place i guess, but they're not for me

Shipley isnt the best I had had little off that anyvan onn the other hand is good, if you can group jobs together, for instance tomorrow ill be starting in ulverston and ending up in newcastle via halifax sheffield hull and leeds and will end up with nearly £800 for the day, now thats much better than any day ive ever had of cx or any of the others... just whatever works for you. Incidently I didnt have to pay for a year on cx up front?...
