Your profile says you have 4 vehicles, No GIT and you hide your address. Don't think you have much chance of getting anything from vendors on here.

It may say i dont have GIT and i hide my address as i dont want random people coming to my door if i was to work for you i would happily give you relivent info
Your GIT is relevant on here if you want work from here, maybe an address isn't, but so far no one has knocked on my door.

i agree GIT is important
And so is HnR
Totally agree
I still don't understand how you can be a PRO member without uploading any documentation of any insurance, driving license or anything at all. A PRO membership should mean more than the fact you've just given mtvan some money surely?! Otherwise its worthless

It makes you legal.
AJM sameday Couriers
Backhanders work well there are different types of backhanders I'm not talking about cash or anything illegal.
Yep it makes you legal... It allows you to carry other peoples goods for money, without it you aint a courier you are a cowboy operator takin the piss out of everybody else who is legit and pays their dues. Get it or get out and stop taking work from proper fully insured couriers, that's not aimed at you specifically but every other non insured pin money seeking driver out there... Ahhhhh rant over...I thank you

Its not rocket science to workout courier insurance allows you to be a legal courier on the road but the point i was trying to make was does it cover your goods in transit? And if so then why are COURIERS required to take out goods in transit insurance aswel? Ive been on the road for over 20 years & know all the verbal tricks the insurance companies use just to extort extra money out of couriers just because COURIERS ARE NOT REGULATED.

You've been on the road for 20 years and you need to ask the benefits of H&R?
It's NOT benefits, it's the law - vehicle/driver insurance is required for every vehicle on the road. Insurance companies charge in relation to the risk they are taking to insure you. H&R is exactly the same as all other vehicle insurance and H&R is a shorthand description of your risk. Vehicle warranties are usually based on "normal" usage of 10-12,000 miles a year. Couriers regularly do up to 10 times that. So the statistical risk of them having an accident are 10 times greater than normal. So the insurance premium is higher. BUT it's still only the "usual" insurance for the vehicle, third parties and the driver. The so-called couriers who are driving round on ordinary car insurance are paying so much less than us on H&R that they are undercutting us on price.
Other people's goods in the vehicle as a business are not "usual" contents and possessions and could cost a fortune, therefore GIT is required.
Insurance companies extorting money out of couriers? Well, that's just the same as us couriers extorting money out of Joe Public - we charge what we can get, what the market will stand. The only difference is the insurance companies have a bloody sight better market than we.
