I have a new customer asking if we could provide backup for their current sameday company who keeps letting them down.
He said they are charging 80p per loaded mile and could i even beat their price.
Their carrier is TNT (UPS) Now

3179I know we used to contract for them in 2000 - 2004 and they were charging £1.20 pplm then.
They might THINK they're being charge 80p per mile, I know of some that add 10% to the mileage....i've just taken on a subbie from TNT who was getting 54p per mile so working backwards that could mean a charge of 80-90p er mile ish ?
I'd say if they want a back up you should keep to your charges, at those rates its no wonder he's getting let down!!!...and if you get given the contract offer to take 10% off for the 1st 3 months or something like that.
