We remind you that all vehicles travelling on French roads must be equipped with breathalysers.
In Freight news n°7, we announced that from 1st November 2012, the law would be enforced and anyone failing to comply would receive a €11 fine.
We inform you that the date has been changed and breathalysers will be now compulsory from 1st March 2013, French ministry of the Interior realising difficulty for drivers to get a breathalyser.
As a reminder:
- This equipment is compulsory for all types of vehicles
- Breathalysers have to comply with the NF norm
- The ruling is in force as of 1st July 2012 but fines will only apply as of 1st March 2013
- You can get kits in a service station and in truck stops or order them online by accredited suppliers
- Blood alcohol level authorized in France is 0.5gram per litre of blood
