We have a client wishing to send some equipment from London To Durham.
The manager also wants to travel with the equipment.
I am trying to work out how this would work insurance wise.
Is the equipment the job and the person is being carried free of charge as a courtesy?
Is the person classed as a passenger as in hire and reward?
Hmm i think i had better call our broker as we haven't come across this before.
Carrying a passenger with the load.

He won't be insured i'm afraid, all you can do is point that out to them, and as long as they're aware its then up to you whether you wanna take him
I actually agree with Speed :)
Also doubt your driver would be over the moon having to travel with a stranger!

I did think about a disclaimer,
The job is 2 way London to Durham on Thursday and returning on Saturday.
We have done alot of the equipment jobs but without the passenger.
just a thought ............. charge the price of a Train ticket extra
They are obviously looking at the 'cheap' option

You really need to check with your insurance company - ours allows us to carry passengers along with their goods just so long as we do NOT charge extra for them.
