Quite a current topic for those with access to the Courier forums but what does it actually mean?
We have the word "shredding", "trolling" and a few other besides
A bit of a grey area, and very much dependant on whether you're the one defending yourself, or the one making the accusations, seems to me
We have been the victims of smears in the past, and although its very annoying (several assumptions had been made without the full facts) there is very little that can be done about it. Once it's out there it's out there for all to see, and getting into an online slanging match isn't going to help your cause either, as everyone can see that too!
So what do you do?
Well you can ask the moderator to intervene, get a legal team on the case, or ignore it so as to not add fuel to the fire.
There will always be those that delight in making our lives harder than they need be, and there will equally be fleecers and conmen that need exposing.
All too often the reader has made his mind up without the full facts, but i guess by having an online presence, you're always going to be open to it. One reason perhaps which is why there are more readers than contributors
So I guess the only real way to avoid confrontation is to remain anonymous, and don't read much into what's said on forums... Unless that is, it's written by me... Lol
