What's your best marketing strategy that has worked best for you?

None of the above.
Nothing beats printing out an info pack which includes copies of your insurances, vehicle registration documents, license and a covering letter introducing your self, your services and your charges.
Print out plenty of these packs, search online for all the courier companies which are local to you, call them up and arrange to pop in and drop of your info to them.
Be sure that you have been speaking to the person who would be responsible for handing out jobs / calling up subbies.
Make sure that both you and your van are clean, tidy and presentable.
Most importantly make sure that you at least sound as though you know what you are doing.
If you come across as though you've just bought a van and a sat nav because you're mate told you that there is money in courier work, your pack will just go straight in the bin. Along with all the other flyers/mail shots that everyone else sent them.
It's the first, personal impression that will get you work.
Scott.
Thats alll very well if you want to sub work, so nothing against that at all Scott, but for touting for work from the end user, then i'd say all of the above. Websites only work if you know what you're doing, and if you don't can actually do more harm than good. I've seen some howlers. Think of a website as something someone can look at for additional info if they want them after seeing your flyers.
And remember, most sales and marketing campaigns take on average 7 attempts before you snare them so you need several different ways of saying the same thing.
You have to be ultimately looking at getting a website as soon as possible if you have a lot of competition near you it could take months maybe years to get it anywhere near producing the calls you will want from it.
I did do as website, but its very basic. I really need a computer nerd to come and make it spiffing for me. If I can get it for free even better

My father in law has been a member of the masons for a good fifty years, I have given him your details so expect a phone call in the next couple of days.

I would take a look at the pictures you're using, without reading any of it, it looks like you're despatching on an Indian
Wouldn't that be good. I would dispatch on an old Indian if they could handle more then 50 miles without breaking down. That the same as the now one too. But the old classics are gorgeous bikes.
Richard are you selling a bike lifestyle or are you a courier? I dont understand why you have pictures of your "dream" motorbikes. Your customers could be put off by the glamour of it all ,,by the way do you have that womans number?
If i did have her number, i'd keep it for myself.
Good points tho. I think i'll have a good hard look at it over the weekend, see what I can come up with.

I agree with Tony about websites, and it can take years, its took me 3 to get where I am now, but its been a hard slog, and still nowhere near Tony or some of the others.
As for other pointers MrG has made a good point about lifestyle or courier, I must admit when I first laid eyes on yours what really put me off was the Indian as nice as it is though it from a customers point of view who knows nowt about bikes.. Just a thought
Try using X-site pro software, Takes a little getting used to but does the job!
