Due to factors beyond my control I haven't been able to start my little courier business as soon as I wanted, like I don't want to upset my present employer too much by leaving just in case things go wrong and need to come back. So I thought leave it until I was due a months leave and throw all my efforts into it then. I did a compare the market search for H&R insurance and a company called Autonet came up with a quote for a small van of £738.77 whereas every on else was nearly a grand dearer and upwards (plus I get my meercat toy lol). There GiT & P/L was not so competitive however. Anyone else had any dealings with this company? Launch date early December, but I want everything all hunky dory and paid for before that. Rgds Ray

Hi Ray. I got a quote off Autonet and they quoted me £2,490!! And that's with 8 years ncb and zero points on my licence. Yours is a great price. Good luck in your new venture.

I thought the H&R was wrong when I first saw it so phoned them and gave all the grisly details, ie. no ncb as it's on my motor traders policy plus a 8 points for speeding in my car. But it was correct. The GiT for £10k is £187.80 or £224.90 for £15k and PL for £1m is £86.64 making a total of £1013.20 for the first year, I dont think that's too bad, if anyone knows different ? That sounds REALLY good. I presume there's no way of cancelling a policy early is there? Cos switching over to this would save me a fortune...

There's nothing to stop you cancelling any policy but if you have bought it with payments spread over a period of time you will still be expected to pay the remaining credit interest.

Seems like a good deal to me Ray, good luck for the future.

Thanks for the good wishes, all I need now is to escape from the ship I'm skipper of go home and get the ball rolling so to speak, but even if it all goes pear shaped I paid enough for the van to sell it on and still make a profit on it and then come grovelling back here, but seriously don't want to.
