It's obviously important to know who it is you're trusting either with your customer's goods, or with credit for the price of a job.

We give members the opportunity to add their VAT number and Companies House number to their profile on mtvan. These numbers are clickable, so you verify them, through to the official websites.

Many many members on mtvan now have this information, as well as a confirmed address, and insurance uploaded, which all helps to verify them as genuine.

This VAT search site is another way to check people out across Europe, as is searching the UK company database..

Maybe members have their own favourite ways of checking new trading partners out, that they'd like to share on here?

Companies House is good for ltd companies, along with similar sites such as companycheck.co.uk
