So, when a member posts 2 x 200+ mile jobs on his first day of joining and calls his business a Ltd Company which does not exist on the Companies House Webcheck list, would you do either of the jobs without up front payment?

I noticed that, it stuck out like a sore thumb, well it did to me and you good one.

No doubt everyone will be cautious, following their own instincts/experience, and guided where necessary by our Safe Trading Guidelines. whenever anyone unknown is offering work (or delivery services).

We have made enquiries, and have had no satisfactory answers, so the account is suspended.

A large number of new accounts don't make it past the first few days, as they don't pass routine basic tests.

The problem with "don't make it past the first few days" is that by then, a lot of damage could already have been done. This sort of scenario shouldn't be allowed to happen in the 1st place. A more stringent checking procedure BEFORE being allowed to join would avoid such a situation and is what has been asked for on numerous occasions.

Members need to be able to TRUST eachother, and not have to check how bonafide someone is before using or accepting work from eachother

I 2nd that. This is why I don't trust this site anymore. If more ckecks was done before members got full access, I'm more companies would join. I can honestly say I only trust a handfull of companies on here.

I noticed it straight the way after a check on companies house. I didn't need to do any further checks

?Wonder if I am trusted? Good to check our own sanity once in a while. Lets hope the weather does not cause us too much disruption before the 'money no object' kicks in.
