What is the favoured Sat Nav with traffic updates now? Time for an upgrade methinks. Also does anybody know if the new Citroen/Peugeot/Fiat with the touchscreen Sat Nav gets traffic updates?

I have an iphone which is good for the job alerts and email but my TomTom just ain't up to it anymore.

If I'd read the brochure first I wouldn't have asked that question about the Citroen - yes it does.

The Renault R-Link TomTom built in satnav is the worst I've ever owned and I think the Fiats have something like them.

Everything about built in satnavs is far more expensive than standalone satnavs - Traffic subscriptions, updates for maps.

They SHOULD be so much better than standalones, but I wouldn't touch them with your bargepole now.

I have a Citroen Berlingo, the sat nav is pretty good and has live traffic.

Andy have a look at TomTom 1005 or 6000. They've got free Live traffic and map updates for 3 years. Amazon and Halfords are best prices.

Have a read of this thread

You will find that a lot of people are very unhappy with TomTom HD Traffic these days, because by coincidence, it seems to stop working when there's a traffic jam!

Also, be aware that the 6000 does not allow importing of third party POIs - so if you have a TomTom POI set of all your customers to make navigating there easy, or if you use the top speed camera database from PocketGPSWorld.com, forget it, you can't import them to the 6000.

TomTom Go range are the best for me, they use your phone's internet connection for the traffic so there's no problems getting updates once it's set up + no subscription costs for traffic.
