"Vehicles Available" would be better but.....

Firstly, If you are an owner driver and own for example an XLWB might I kindly suggest that instead of listing...

Car, Estate Car, LWB Transit, MWB Transit, SWB Transit
Small Van, Sprinter, Transit High Top, XLWB Transit

... you just have the XLWB in your profile. This in no way impacts on your ability to get work, you can still receive alerts for the vehicles you choose, and if you want to quote on car work in your XLWB that's fine, but it let's me know what you actually have.

Secondly if you don't OWN the vehicle DONT LIST IT ON YOUR PROFILE, because when I almost give you a really important job for an XLWB and then find out you actually only have a LWB I'm going to get annoyed.

This cropped up a few days back. I think there are those that confuse the type of alerts they get, with what their actual vehicles are Eg if you have an LWB you may want the small van and transit alerts too, whereas a small van obviously wouldn't want to know about anything bigger than a small van alert

Needs a gentle reminder, which you have done :0)

Scott, I missed them as they were about motorcycles.

The trouble is those and my post may nudge a few people to change but the vast majority probably don't use the forums and therefore it needs the admins to do something about it.

There's people with no vehicles at all listed, I think I posted about 2 years ago about making it mandatory to have them listed, and I believe there was a brief purge but there are still plenty about.

There's plenty with no GIT listed, one quoted today he had the right van, he was available, the price was good, when I looked at his profile "No GIT Insurance" so he missed out.

This site is going nowhere if it can't fulfill the wishes of both vendors and drivers.

I've posted many suggestions that I think would improve the site but either nothing happens or the thread is closed/deleted before both sides can say what they think (because I accept some may be rubbish)

It's extemely frustrating, and I'm close to giving up posting work.

Like anything, it takes time and the simplest of tasks for us, may be a bit more complex behind the scenes.

I'm not an IT bod so yes, although fustrating at times, i do believe this is the place to get heard more than one of your more established sites, and here is the place to get as close to a kind of bespoke exchange site that is made for its members both individually and collectively.

I do think that there are many members that haven't read up on an awful lot of what you should be doing, and how to use the site, the do's aond don'ts the way to this, and to do that, least of all how to fill out your profile properly.

We're all asking for more from the site when it is the basics perhaps, that some should be looking at first.

i'm sure everything we're looking for will come eventually.

I thought service types listed were different from notifications

They are but people aren't using them that way, which is the point of my post.

Service Types Available: XLWB
Alerts: XLWB (LWB, MWB etc etc if you want)

I'm absolutely with you on this... I have in the past when posting work, received quotes by phone, but when checking the profile and no GIT Shown, I also decline but not stating the obvious, there are a few who have emailed me their full Insurances and whom I would use, but thats it..
