The day you experienced is mirrored by an increasing number of us i assure you.
I am staggered at times at what goes on, what some try and get away with and by blatant lying as to where they are. This even goes on with those that have trackers ffs. I mean, come on!
There seems a growing number of drivers ( i can't call them couriers as that would be insulting those that do know what its all about) who have no idea what they're doing, have scant regard for us or our customers, or the urgency of the delivery they've just collected. I'm un-decided whether its thru stupidity or whether they just don't care.
I've heard pretty much every bullshit excuse that there is, but even i find i'm listening, open mouthed to some of the excuses i hear.
The most recent one involves only 2 of 4 boxes collected, highlighted at the delivery point not questioned at the collection despite clear instruction to collect 4 and then made to feel its our fault?
Or a transit required, a small van sent in, a call to say it doesn't fit... No really? Can't imagine why that is! And apparently it wasn't made clear. A job for a transit, how unclear is that? Words fail me, and these are from people who should know better.
But i'll leave the best til last.
A job picked up, only to discover that they've left their wallet at home, some 25 miles up the road, in the opposite direction to where the delivery is going. Only discovered by the tracker showing the driver heading the wrong way, not a call to say anything. Asked why was told why, not seemingly understanding the implications of what amounted to a loss of 2hours... 2 hours, and then getting the hump for chasing them up for an eta?
Had we been made aware, we could have taken the goods off them and covered with one of several others who had quoted (some cheaper i hasten to add).
I get why we weren't told, they didn't want to lose the job, but the bigger picture is I DON'T WANT TO LOSE A CUSTOMER
