Depends what you need it for and where you are going to be using it. Carrying length or carrying weight? City centre multi -drop or mainly motorway work ?
i'd go for a merc sprinter xlwb high roof to cover 99% of any work out there if it were me
Need a vehicle which can mainly move pellets for motorway use, (speed Couriers) I heard the sprinters are a little juicy on fuel is this true? Or is the sprinter all-rounder.
Thanx folks I value your views
With a lwb sprinter you are limiting the weight you can carry to around 1200kgs.
With a Ducato you will be able to carry around 1500kgs and then another 50 kgs as well when a door drops off.
Why not get a Vauxhall "3 day test drive" with a Movano / Renault Master.which will take as much weight as a Ducato but for a good few years longer.
If all you really need is length then look at an Iveco Daily but you will be restricting your payload to 980 kgs or thereabouts and be unable to pass a fuel pump.
Or there is the builders favourite - Ford Transit, a lwb tranny is still one of the most manouvreable 11450kg payload vans for city multidrop work.
You pays your money & you takes your choice, but there really is nothing better than an extended test drive or a couple of weeks hire to help you make your mind up.
merc sprinters are only juicy cos the way they're driven by nutters lol.....seriously tho we get 35-38 mpg....but thats fully loaded
Thank you both for your words of wisdom ….Ill update you on my purchase
sprinters will take four pallets! the others don't possibly with the exception of the crafter
i run sprinters all day long lwb & xlwb find them very good on fuel but only down side is the wieght they can carry other than that i would not change them for any of the other vans on the market sensible driving equals longer life capacity of the engine & van.
second hand reliant van preferably in canary yellow i swear by mine
