Whenever people see Multi Drop, they envisage 12-14 hour days for not much money so they do not bother calling.

I am not personally interested in this sort of work, but maybe if you put what you are paying, and showed it was a worthwhile rate, some people may ring.

I have spoken to many couriers in the past, and the response for multi drop isn't good because they can earn more for direct deliveries rather than multi drop. I have found that most multi drop want to pay around £130 day rate and that doesn't interest many. Me personally don't mind multi drop depending on what it's paying and the amount of drops involved. I used to do multi drop for hermes before I started doing the sameday stuff and hated every minute of it, because it involved on average about 120 drops per day for little money. Now i set my own prices depending on how long it will take, amount of drops and the mileage involved, wether it's local or nationwide

Spot on, i'm a seasoned multi-dropper, i know what the job entails, i also know what the going rates are, if i'm expected to do 100 drops, then a load of collections, slogging my bits off, and probably getting grief off of their head office, i will go and work for the company direct, and get the full rate rather than a cut of it. I expect between £160 and £180 per day, or an hourly rate, and i put a limit on the amount of drops too, it stops the piss-taking, i don't do drop rate, if i go somewhere to deliver, and the customer's not in, i still want paying for it, i'm not running around for the fun of it. Companies around here charge up to £200 per day to supply a courier, their courier gets 60% of that, and that's for 60-70 drops max.

It was a specific contract which paid £250 a day guaranteed Mon to Fri for 3 months, all covered now thanks for input

If I remember correctly Phil, this was a retainer for you to be on site Mon to Fri to do ad-hoc work, once you got a job and it went over the retainer PPM would kick in. Maybe I didn't make myself clear. Apologies.
