also another thing that's been bugging me is the lack of varification of documents listed i:e insurance docs this is most important the driver's really need to upload there doc's van ins & g.i.t d/l aswell photo card & paper part aswell as v5 & m.o.t to gve the likes of my self peace of mind knowing my customers goods are fully insured whilst in transit.
Hi there,
I sympathise.
I am unable to update my company status. I have only had one response to 10 jobs.
I have recently paid £75 for upgraded membership.
I have never had a single reply to three threads that I have put on the forum.
To be fair Tim Gilbert he has extended my membership. However, extending membership to a site that, for whatever reason, cannot provide my company with an adequate service is small comfort.

Hi Tony,
Website Admin
I assume you're wanting to update the 'about' section here... www.mtvan.com/account/company_details/
Hi there
I have spoken to Tim about this.
I can update it but the save button is void. It will not save. The other save buttons do work. Please ask Tim for copies of my e mails.
Kind regards
Tony.
P.S. I do not undertand why I have had no repone to work put on this site. Again refer to e mails.
I think you've gotten rid of the ebay shit which is a good move, if the site is full of quality jobs people are more likely to use it.
You need to finish the vehicles profile, I have spoken to tim about it, currently only lists 4 vehicles against me in the member directory view even though I have set many more and you also need a tab on the userdetails.php page showing them too. Furthermore it should be MANDATORY, on login users should be redirected to the page that tells them to select vehicles. You can then utilise this information to tailor your alerts so that I don't get people with small vans bidding on XLWB work (saving you money too !)
You are way better value than the yellow site who I refuse to join, they may have tons of work but I'm not paying £1000 per year for a frickin website even if I would make it back, it's just taking the piss. I really want you to become the dominant exchange.
If this was MY site, I'd be giving out free memberships to people who would help it grow say 3 months to subbies, 6 months to posters, speculate to accumulate as they say.
Website Admin
Tony, is the save button greyed out/unclickable? If this is the case please complete the other parts of the form.
Thanks for your supportive post Preston, I will reply properly later.
Best Wishes
Richard
I have found that there is a problem with vehicle sizes, I drive a small van and I get alsorts of 'dead' alerts for large vans lorries etc, would it not save vast amounts of wasted texts to target the drivers who can do the job?
mtvan.com Ltd
We've added at least 3 months upgrade to every user account on mtvan
(whether previously upgraded or not), and some free txt alerts, to see
if that produces better results for our Vendors.
That's over 1000 members, and they've all logged in in 2011.

Update Details: This issue is resolved. It's working as it should, but we need to make it more obvious how many fields need to be completed before the Save button will work.
Thanks for your help, Tony.

@Dave/Springer
re the txt alerts/vehicle sizes: have you set your alerts correctly?
Dashboard>>Account>>Alert Settings
http://www.mtvan.com/account/alert_settings/
If you are sure, please forward me any emails (to tim@mtvan.com) you think are wrong vehicle sizes for your settings, or ditto wrong txts to 07725750103
Anyone else notice this issue?
Tim
Tim,
thanks for the link I rechecked our settings and they were all correct, nothing was ticked bigger than a small van, maybe texts are managing to bypass the settings?
Dave
Hi There
I also had a text yesterday requesting availibilty of an artic but the maximum vehicle setting i have is ex-long wheelbase sprinter.
The other problem i have i get everything twice e-mail and text.

John
Website Admin
Hi Everyone,
I think this may affect the emails rather than the texts? Just to reinforce the point about making sure your settings are correct, make sure you're settings are correct in the Alert Settings. This includes the setting 'Specify Service Types' and then whatever types you want.
http://www.mtvan.com/account/alertsettings/
This is different to the Company Details where you specify what services you provide:
http://www.mtvan.com/account/companydetails/
For information, to test this, the day before yesterday I put my alert radius up to 500 miles and specified only to receive alerts about 'HGV/Articulated Lorry'. Since then I have only received text alerts about 'HGV/Articulated Lorry' (just the one from Pronto), however I do have email alerts about other vehicle types.
Does anyone get the same results as me? I'll look into modifying the way the site works this evening. Looks like once upon a time when I built this functionality my main intention was just to not cost people unnecessary extra money with unwanted txts, so possibly didn't worry about the emails.
Best Wishes
Richard
Hello,
Hi,
Oops! just checked my jobs to sub out and there was some very old ones!
surely if the job is more than 24 hours old most people would think that it was dead?
I will have to keep an eye on that, but it is a bit of a worry that you get so many calls about jobs on here only weeks after they were posted and none when it's live!!
Dave B
Thank you for resolving the problems. The fact that you did not become proactive for more than 3 weeks, leaves alot to be desired. It is not the service or the resolution that was the issue. It was the three week time lag.
Kind regards
Tony
I think the seller should remove the posting...suffice to say if he'd sold it to an mtvan member it wouldn't be appearing....the fact that he couldn't sell it on here means it stays here unless he removes it.....so yes, maybe admin should remove all the previous days cos is it annoying its true
Just like to say, I've recently joined this site and quite happy with the responses from the jobs i've listed so far apart from a few drivers/operators who jump the gun a bit and call me without checking the job details properly first.
A couple of weeks ago I had a 7.5t job which received a quote from a small van driver. I think the problem is in the vehicle description which I believe shows up as Small Lorry 7.5t. Driver, saw the Small and was in a bit too quick with the quote.
My most recent listed on Friday for a Job to be done on Sunday with a specific collection time received a couple of quick quotes with people wanting to take it straight away on friday.
Apart from asking people to take a couple of extra seconds to read the job listing properly before calling/quoting, I am receiving some good responses with most drivers quoting resonable rates and on the job as listed.
3D Courier Services
Hi All, I was about to post a thread re old listings when I saw this. Jobs past their sell by date should automatically be removed from the current "Courier Work" page. We want a quick insight into whats available on the day. Its annoying to wade through miriads of jobs that hang around for weeks. If a job remains "live" posters should be able to resubmit at the tick of a box, or we should be able to view older unallocted jobs on another page.

"You need to finish the vehicles profile, I have spoken to tim about it,
currently only lists 4 vehicles against me in the member directory view
even though I have set many more"
We've added a fix for this now.
Will attend to all the other ideas on this thread as time permits.
Thanks
Tim
