Hi, new to courier work and wanting to do same day courier work. I have bought a luton curtainsider because i thought i could cover sprinter work and curtainsider work- fuel wise im assuming not too much difference, but curtainsider cant carry as much weight as a sprinter- any feedback appreciated ie should i just have bought a sprinter? Thanks in advance. bal

Luton curtainsider with tail lift works well. On mine i have a payload of 1100kgs 4.5M bed, according to vosa weigh bridge when i last got pulled over for a routine check.

What is the curtainside body mounted on? Makes a big difference to payload.

Have a read http://www.mtvan.com/forum/sprinter-curtainside-luton-v-panel-fuel-economy id also have a good hard look at weight limits, a weighbridge is your new best friend. I`m led to believe the curtain sider has 300kg less weight capacity than the same length van. This means wayyyyyyyyyyy less than a ton. Dont believe the official line and stick it on a weigh bridge to be assured.

Thats the one
Mines the renault, i was quite surprised when vosa said i couldn't carry no more than 1200kgs, but then i took onto account myself and the equipment i carry, so put it down to 1100 kgs. It will be less soon as i'm having a sleep pod fitted aswell
