On Sunday another member was signed up. On Friday that new member posted a job. A text alert was posted and i received the alert. However i had never heard of the company before so even though i was in the area of the job, i declined to quote.
On my return i checked out said company and see they have had a couple of posts on the forum ,they have no G.I.T (surprise surprise) and reputation of just 23.This new member was just one of a couple of "newbies" who posted work.
If this was eBay and i was looking to sell i would need to provide bank account details inc my current debit/credit card and i would only be able to sell a certain number of goods per month until i had achieved a trading history.
Why does this site allow random people to post without taking basic security steps to protect owner drivers who take on these jobs? Without going on my soapbox again.. This is exactly what happened with the AET scam and although i am happy to receive text alerts and ultimately quote for a job i now use the old adage " once bitten twice shy"
