Is there good money to be earned in it? I know some people on here charge £50 to go to London from Cambridge And think that by the time you take your fuel out of that and time loading and unloading Is it really worth it or not? Any comments I would be greatfull Of even if negative? Thanks you all

£50? Lol give me their numbers will ya I pay that from Stansted!
And thats for 1 box Removals at that price? Must be a charity
Can you ask them if they can remove 1 pallet from Cambridge area to London for £50 please? And I will even pay their congestion charge if required :)
Ha Ha Ha Ha! I just fallen off my leather executive office chair! Rob! There is a bloke here asking about removals! The removal industry is dead and it was killed by the van and man brigade. A removal should be done properly taking care of all the items a customer has taken his life tme to gather!, Treasured valuable items. That does not matter anymore because its now a cowboy game and damage and customer disatisfaction is the name of the game. The director of Pickfords was on radio four about four weeks ago explaining that the calapse of the housing market has not helped but it has been destoyed by man and van! There is no money in removals and you will only discover hard work for no return or reward

I saw Lemmy from Motorhead do that once in a Plymouth nightclub. Two roadies struggling to get a piano down the stairs and he comes along and gives it a kick. There were quite a few pieces once it got to the bottom.

Removals are usually bloody hard work if you're doing all that lifting, but you're supposed to charge over and above your normal mileage rate to compensate. The money can be pretty decent so long as you don't mind breaking a sweat, and if you take care of peoples' belongings with a smile, tips aren't unusual. I did a few Cambridge-London removals last summer and was paid more than £100 a time.
Shahdat
I did a job from woodgreen to bank (london) for £50 each way lol
Removals can pay well as long as you have all the kit. The insurance is different believe it or not to your courier insurance (it's classed as a different sector). The only way to make it pay is to have a 17tonne removal truck or 7.5 toner and all the associated kit. Other than that its man and van work and rates are bad people will expect you to do a local move for about £60. As for distance moves forget it you won't fit a 2 or 3 bed house or flat in panel van and you'll overload a Luton if it goes in
