Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how many road closures there seem to be at night nowadays. I collected a load at 01.00 hrs from Essex going up to Glasgow and from leaving my house in Kent, A274 Closed between Headcorn and Maidstone, A13 Entry road west bound from M25 Closed, M11 Southbound exit closed from M25, Also closed Jn 6-4, M25 Exit 21a Closed, A14 Closed from Jn 1 to M1, A453 Northbound Closed, M6 Northbound Closed Jn 4-6, M42 Closed Jn 9-10.

3 of these effected me, not major to be fair and didnt cost me alot of time and i know we are the first to moan about the state of the roads so they have to repair them and the best time must be at night, but the days of thinking drive at night and get a good clean run seem to be a thing of the past.

Dont know about road closures at night.. It seems roads closures as soon as there is a bump at any time take the A249 today, it takes one inconsiderate driver to close the road for ages and the wombles treat it as a disaster plus the traffic muppets dont help with getting things moving, the M6 is another example around the J16 mark...

Too much traffic for state of our roads.

I prefer to drive abroad, although there are horrendous places, like the Antwerp Ring Road / kennedy tunnel, but generally much better driving experience. Here no matter what time it can be a nightmare, as one of our drivers found out stuck for over 2 hours on the M5 on Monday!

Only solution would be a controversial Policy, scrapping cars over 6 years old and making ALL of our motorway Toll Roads

Yes something needs to be done thats for sure. I used to come off the ferry from Greece to Brindisi in Italy and drive for 30 hrs to Calais without a hitch, come off the ferry at Dover, 1 hour up the road and its all over.
