State of the roads!

Call out at 2.30am this morning, so for a change I decided to do the job to Southampton myself!

I thought the new van was going to fall apart after hitting a huge pothole on the A34 (2nd to last roundabout before the M40) it was horrendous, so on the way back I made a point of looking what I had hit, now it was daylight.

It was not just at that location, the A34 is pretty much akin to how the main motorway from Berlin to Wasaw was before Poland received EEC monies! It is littered with craters, which could easily be a death trap if some unfortunate soul did not see them on a motorcycle.

The M1 is not that much better in places.

What a sad state our motorway surfaces have got into.

One thing for certain, if a temporary repair or complete re-surfacing is carried out, it will no doubt cause delays!

I have a huge dent in a bike wheel after hitting a hole on the A36.

This was 4 months ago and the hole is still there despite being reported. Highways basically told me to go whistle for the damages which at a dealer would have been over £700. As it was i got a wheel and tyre from a breaker.

Annoying isn't it. All these cars and trucks, but the government has a solution.

Toll roads, by 2014?

It's a brilliant idea me thinks, let every one use the toll roads and pay road tax. Then we all be able to drive along the A and B roads, 70mph on the motorways and no hold ups. Fantastic.

Well if you where more like us steady Eddies types, you'd save more on your fuel bill than just a feww pence a litre using your card. And if you gave yourself plenty of time to get to your drop you wouldnt have to dash around like a lunatic (what ever one of them drives like.

And the fact that I have a camera in windscreen that clocks GPS, Speed, date times etc etc .... Even Audio, So I cant even call the Lunatic driver a fcknuig road hog... Honestly That camera has definatley got nothing do with me driving like a true proffesional road user ... and keeping to the speed limits... *** NO HONESTLY *** Gary
