Hi Guys Sorry im new so have some questions to fire

1st: is Courier Expert worth paying the fees or is it a scam

2nd: is there plenty of work from this site to fill my day or is this better for back loads like Shed5

Personal Note: I started Motorcycle courier work about 4 weeks ago and the work is really slow so I now find my self looking at other options. I have Courier insurance but not goods in transit as this is covered in the Office, so I know I will have to get that sorted Also I am now thinking of selling the Bike and getting a Small Van but in the time being use My Picasso. I don't mind multi drop or Sameday I just wont to work and not sit around all day to earn £20

Any advise would help Thank You

Tony

Hi ACB, I'll just post to let you know that Courier Expert is certainly not a scam. I'm sure someone who has worked for him will be along soon to fill you in with more information.

Hi ACB, Admin are right Courier Expert are not a scam. I've been a full member for several months and have had more than enough work to make it worthwhile, but I think it depends where you operate from. Also they pay on time with 30 day net.

Hi Tony, We will cover your GIT currently up to £500 [Admin: For Courier Expert work], but that's soon about to change to a few thousand pounds, the final figure has not yet been decided. However, please bear in mind this only applies to job subbed to you by us.

Hi Tony, it's worth repeating I think that the cover that Courier Expert provides will not cover you for other courier work.

Considering that Goods in Transit is a very cheap insurance, I would advise that you get it for yourself and then you can approach all the courier companies in your area instead of relying on one source of work.

I've seen people saying it's £250 - £300 pa. Does this sound right? If so you're right that's affordable.

No its about £120 for Ten thou from coversure just for yourself, I pay £300+ for ten thou but that covers any vehicle operating under our name. Be careful though as some Insurers will only give the value of weight and not goods, they are crafty.

As Gary said for a single bike it would be around the £120 mark, now although many companies will require you to have this please be aware most insurance companies will only cover items in factory fitted lockable (& locked) panniers. I don't need to tell you that most bikes are not factory fitted with panniers.

I take it you are the Tony that contacted me yesterday (my apologies I will get round to a reply) I will however point out that most companies (except the ones in London) will not entertain a bike under 500cc as smaller engines will not cope well with 300 miles daily running 10 hours a day.

PS there are enough traditional courier companies around that don't require an upfront payment/weekly subs.

SWC-Couriers

But to get them you have to pay subs to a courier exchange site, so what's the difference? Agree, that then maybe you can get recognised and get offers after a few jobs.

Rubbish, believe it or not they exist in the real world, get out and go and see them. Plenty of small to medium companies offering good rates, you have to go and find them, they wont come to you.

If the earning potential is there I may buy a midi van.

Legrys Express Ltd

As said its not a scam, though I have just cancelled my membership as there's not enough work in my area to make it viable running a big van.

It's free to stay on as a reserve, we will just send you email job alerts when we are struggling to cover a job. Talk to the office about it, if you haven't already.

My membership expired and today I sold the van (for more than I thought I would get) as there was not enough work (or decent rates) for me to keep a small van going and I've subsidised the costs by doing other work, but I shall hang on to the Kangoo just in case...

Better clarify... My pro membership to mtvan expired.
