That may be the Festival Of Speed, equally good but earlier in the year (June)
"The Goodwood Revival is a three-day festival held each September at Goodwood Circuit since 1998 for the types of road racing cars and motorcycle that would have competed during the circuit's original period—1948–1966.
There are few events that can promise guests the chance to time travel, but that is what is in store for those lucky enough to attend this month's Goodwood Revival at the famous West Sussex estate.
Classic cars are only part of the story of this vintage event that takes visitors back 60 years to the "golden age" of British motorsport. Goodwood Revival, rather like the ever-so-fashionable Secret Cinema, offers visitors an experience of hyper reality, recreating every detail of this bygone age.
Set entirely in period theme, Revival offers visitors the chance to take a nostalgic trip back in time to their favourite decade, to the glamorous 1940's, 1950's or 1960's, and to revel in the thrill and allure of vintage motor racing as it used to be.
"The Revival is theatre," says Lord March, manager of the estate. "The circuit is literally dressed up like a huge film set, and that includes the competitors and spectators. Almost everyone is dressed to the nines in fantastic 1940s 50s and 60s creations, and the efforts people go to are amazing."
Despite the cars being vintage, the racing is genuinely competitive. But it's not just motorsport, as there are aerial displays from Battle of Britain aircraft, a vintage market, as well as a showcase of British fashion and design from the era. Plus, of course, all the fun of dressing up for the weekend in your favourite vintage fashions."
Goodwood Revival takes place September 12 to September 14.
