As I am new to this business, I cannot believe how many websites that are currently advertising that they can send work your way.

Are there ones to avoid like the plague?

My advice would be to Google each one and you will then be able to make up you mind, most naughty ones like snails can't help but leave a trail.

I would agree with Tony, but depends on what your looking for.

They all have pros and cons, some have more cons than others. There are others that may be small but good, some cost more than others and may not benefit you so you will have weigh up what you want.

I have a different view on this most of us would never go near 90% of those sites. If somebody is foolish enough to fall for this then they deserve the pain that goes with it. I have spent the last ten years in a bit of a bubble and only really started messing around with the internet last year. I know this industry well but what has shocked me are the number of desperate startups.

I did not realise that people were starting up without doing market research or a comprehensive detailed business plan. Some of you new people have just brought a van and prayed and then paniced! I have never in all my day witness such foolish recklesssness. You dont really need to own a van to make it in this game (Bit late to learn that maybe) you need contacts and the business.

I could take my vans of the road today and still make money and cover the work so you dont need a van You simply need the business and some of you have gone and made a big mistake in one of the biggest economic down turns since the 1930s! So we have a catologe of fools and then we have about 20 hyenas praying on them. So what!

You dont pay money to gain business you get off your arse and work hard to gain the business If you're lazy or don't have the skills or really dont know what to do then you should have discovered this before you gave up your job and threw away all this money. I am fast discovering that a good 50% of new couriers on the internet should not be here and wont make it. I feel that responable site like this should offer a wealth warning or don't enter sign for fools.

These types of sites encourage people to step into the courier market, with adverts in national newspapers they will rush out and buy a van to accommodate this tidal wave of work, that's IT! they are in so they will then persevere in this business essentially swimming against the tide, possibly even taking jobs on to turn wheels, before it all sadly falls apart due to lack of research.

I think ya should 'suck it and see' with forums, see what suits you best. I researched for quite some time it wont get anyone ringing ya to do a job.
